Sawchyn Collection Sitka Guitar tops

These tops are from Retired Luthier Peter Sawchyn. He bought them dry in 8/2009 So the aged wood is over 16 years old. The sap in fibres of aged wood has crystalyzed and it becomes more resonant. The vertical cut of these tops is 90 degrees with little variation . The annular rings per inch vary from 35 to 19 on the best, AAAA
If you want a top joined ($15.00) and/or thicknessed ( $20.00) add it in the comment when ordering  THX

SC706 Sitka Spruce

There is a small Sap pocket that will fall into the upper bout treble side , Though a cutaway may eliminate it  if it doesn't sand out with thicknessing

SC705 Sitka Spruce

Tight grain Straight AAA

SC704 Sitka

Very good , clear straight grain. AAAA

SC703 Sitka spruce

One half  has a runout fracture along the tight grain . It still leave 8.5" of Good wood. Possibly could put a soundhole over it on a smaller guitar, totally eliminating it.

SC 702 Sitka Spruce

Sap Pocket  off the pattern on the wider grain edge. AAAA other wise

SC 701 Sitka Spruce

Small sap pocket outside of the tight lines and a dreadnought size pattern Probably could sand out in thicknessing but this side is Planed  The underside need to be thicknessed. For joining and thicknessing add it in the comments if you want it.
